Le Comité du Tourisme de Saint-Barthélemy ouvre sa saison culturelle 2025-2026 aux couleurs de l’Amérique latine.
The Tourism Committee of St. Barths is setting the stage for an unforgettable 2025-2026 cultural season, bringing Latin America to the forefront.
Born from the desire to showcase a destination closely tied to our own, this immersive journey through Latin American history and culture will highlight gastronomy, music, dance, art exhibitions, and performances through a series of unique and unforgettable experiences.
A brand-new cultural and culinary agenda is set to unfold across the island. Under the leadership of the Tourism Committee, cultural and business stakeholders are coming together to celebrate the diversity and richness of Latin America. In 2025, every event will become a platform to tell a new story, one that reflects the deep connections between St. Barths and Latin America.
Atmosphere and Setting
Event venues can be brought to life with vibrant decorations inspired by traditional Latin American designs. Festive garlands, tropical-print fabrics, and symbolic touches like sombreros, maracas, and exotic flowers will be easily incorporated for a colorful and immersive setting. Music will set the tone, blending the smooth rhythms of bossa nova with the upbeat energy of cumbia and sam-ba, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
A Culinary Celebration
Restaurants and hotels taking part in the festivities will craft special menus inspired by Brazilian, Peruvian, and Mexican cuisine. Using locally sourced ingredients, they will create authentic culi-nary collaborations. Cocktail bars will also be part of the experience. Signature drinks such as cai-pirinhas, pisco sours, and margaritas will be added to the menu during themed evenings.
The Gourmet Festival will take on this theme as well, welcoming guest chefs from Latin America.
Music and Dance Take Center Stage
Music lovers will get to enjoy a series of concerts featuring artists from the Latin American scene, while dance, a key part of this culture, may take center stage with live performances. Latin inter-ludes could be woven into musical and festive events, with small showcases of samba, tango, or even capoeira. Quick mini-workshops, like an introduction to salsa or samba, might also be offered alongside evening events or festivals.
Art
Exhibitions on the island may showcase a selection of works by Latin American artists alongside creations from local talents. Visitors will also be able to discover South American artists through exhibitions displayed in hotels and restaurants across the island. The Tourism Committee has part-nered with the Director of the Wall House to curate a special selection of artists. In collaboration with local art galleries, this initiative will help enhance the museum experience.
Sports and Nature
Sports competitions may feature spectacular demonstrations inspired by Brazilian sports culture, such as capoeira or freestyle football. During hikes and nature activities, guides may share fasci-nating stories and draw parallels between the Caribbean ecosystem and that of Latin America.
Education and Discovery
Conferences, roundtable discussions, and educational workshops already in place may include a focus on historical, cultural, or ecological ties between France, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Children’s activities at events may feature creative workshops, such as mask-making or painting inspired by Latin traditions. A dedicated “Taste Week” will be organized in schools, and a pen pal exchange may be set up between students in Spanish classes and French-speaking schools in South America.
An Ambitious Vision
Tourism trends show that travelers are increasingly drawn to destinations that align with their values. By incorporating a strong cultural element into its identity, St. Barths is reinforcing its ex-clusivity while opening itself up to new global influences. Beyond the local festivities, representa-tives from Latin American countries will be invited to key professional events such as the Tourism Submit and Caribavia. These meetings will strengthen international ties and encourage new air travel connections between St. Barths and South America.
An Unforgettable Cultural Journey
The launch of this cultural season will be a vibrant celebration of Latin American heritage in St. Barths.
Throughout 2025 and 2026, every event, from the most intimate gathering to the grandest cele-bration, will be an invitation to cultural exchange, making St. Barths an even more inspiring and captivating destination.
